Black Copper Marans

These are a variety of dark laying hens gathered from the best of the best in dark egg Marans covered by 2 different Roo’s both from separate dark & speckled lines. Both of our Roo’s have strong copper feathering & are close to SOP, but most of our hens don’t have much copper in their feathering. They all have nice feathered feet & beautiful black feathering.

We typically receive 7-9’s during peak season at the start of the Season. They usually keep their color throughout the cycle and lighten at the very end. Offspring may start laying light and darken as they lay. The lighter laying hens are paired with a darker gene Roo for darker laying offspring. You will receive a nice variety of all shades.
